About Julia

Born and raised in a small town in the Black Forest, Germany, I left my home at the age of 19 to study film in the entertainment capital of the world––Los Angeles. A graduate of UCLA film school as well as the American Film Institute, I finally gave in to my addiction to culture shocks and wanderlust, and have since transitioned into freelance writing, with a focus on travel and holistic living. I happily live with my husband, filmmaker Jared Drake, and our reindeer Bruce, in the secluded hills of Topanga, California.
